The Department of Pollution Control, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has notified of the danger of refrigerant imitation R-134a and R-40, that could cause accidents when using such a chemical substance in any activity. The production of refrigerant imitations is widespread around the world with an unknown trade name, manufacturing company or specific distributor. It has become more difficult to control the import-export or transit, as well as its utilization and maintenance. The Department of Pollution Control, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has imposed the following measures to ensure safety and prevent accidence that may be occurred
- Please contact the National Ozone unit, Department of Pollution Control to initiate an investigation on the refrigerant substance;
- Do not use chemical substances made with refrigerant imitations;
- The refrigerant should be purchased from a reliable distributor, in-country or abroad, that has a letter of certification for refrigerant substances; and
- The condition of the refrigerant substance should be monitored and checked.
